It is super tempting to run across the street to get closer to Lake Apopka\, but cars zoom down this road fast! There is no crosswalk\, so it’s much safer to stay camp-side.\n– Enjoy the view from camp. You can still catch great view of the sunset right from the safety of the park and campground boundaries. Keep kiddos and pups close by so they don’t wander toward the pavement.\n\nMeeting the Local Wildlife\n– Gator awareness: Lake Apopka is famous for its alligators! Because the water is just across the street\, always keep an eye on small pets and kids\, and never walk near the water’s edge after dark.\n– Outsmart the raccoons: The local critters here are clever. Lock up your snacks\, trash and scented items safely inside your vehicle so you don’t wake up to furry midnight visitors.\n– Bug defense: Being right by the lake means lots of mosquitoes and midges\, especially at sunset.  Keep your tent zipped tight and pack plenty of bug spray!\n\nSetting Up Your Camp\n– Perfect your pitch: Magnolia Park has great paved sites with water and electric hookups. Pitch your tent on the designated ground right next to your pad.\n– Keep fires in the ring: Use the provided park fire rings for your campfires. Florida lake breezes can pick up quickly\, so drown your fire completely with water until it’s cold before you go to sleep.\n– Tent safely: Never use fuel-burning heaters\, stoves or lanterns inside your tent. Keep it fresh with battery-powered lights instead!\n– Watch the skies: Central Florida weather loves a sudden afternoon rain shower. Stake down your tent’s rainfly before you head out for the day\, just in case!\n\n____\n\nWEEKEND SCHEDULE PER DAY\nFRIDAY\, NOV 6\n3PM-4:30PM | Arrive and pitch tents.
