Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be Filipino to attend this church?
No, our church welcomes everyone! We are an international congregation and love to worship with all of our brothers and sisters from all over the world.
Do I have to belong to your denomination to attend this church?
No, you do not have to be SDA to attend our church. All are welcome! We invite you to come and worship with us – in fact, bring your friends and family, too!
What language are your worship services held in?
While our church name is Orlando Filipino, all of our services are in English. We do have Sabbath School classes in different Filipino dialects, in Spanish, as well as in English.
Do you have to dress up to attend church services?
We do not have a dress requirement to attend our church services. The most important thing to remember is that we will do our best for the Lord, and that includes the way we dress and present ourselves when we attend church.
What do you offer for children’s services on Sabbath?
Children are a very important part of our church congregation. They are an active group and participate in all of our services by sharing their talents for the Lord. We have Sabbath School classes by age groups, opportunities to sing and/or play musical instruments, and many ministries where kids can be involved such as Adventurers Club, Angklung ensemble, Children’s Choir, etc.
What if we have a baby or a toddler? Are there any programs for those families?
We do have a Sabbath School class for babies, toddlers, and their families. We also have a Mother’s Room for those families who would like to attend Divine Worship Service and not worry about disturbing the service or if they need a more quiet/private place for their family.
What kind of spiritual growth/education opportunities does your church offer?
Our church is very active and you can find a small group bible study almost every night of the week! In addition to our Sabbath Day programs (Morning Manna, Sabbath School online and in-person, Divine Worship Service, afternoon bible studies, Sundown Worship Service), we also have Midweek Prayer Meetings, Friday Vespers, Friday Youth Vespers, and small care groups on Mondays, Tuesday, and Thursdays. There’s something for everyone! Feel free to reach out to our pastors to see which opportunities best fit what you are looking for.
Will I be asked to give money?
If this is your first time to visit our church, we ask that you enjoy worship and praise with us during our worship services. If you feel so inclined to give tithes and offerings, you are welcome to but it’s not mandatory. If you feel like our church can be a place you can call as your church home, then we believe in giving tithes and offerings as part of being a follower of Christ.
Whom can I speak with if I want to know more about your church and what it has to offer?
We are excited to speak with you and learn more about any questions you may have. Please fill out our contact form or call one of our pastors.
